Level 1 Coaching Course

After the success of last month’s course, coaches will have a chance to update or gain their Level 1 accreditation this Saturday.

This Senior-Youth Level 1 coaching course will be held at the Aspley Hornets on Sunday, March 9.

Aspley’s coaching staff will be leading the sessions on the day, passing on their knowledge to community coaches .

The course is a chance for prospective coaches to gain their accreditation, or for current coaches to renew their existing accreditation.

A Level 1 Youth accreditation allows coaches to mentor club and school teams of teenagers, while senior accreditation applies to open age football.

Coaches looking to update can attend the session for half a day to re-accredit.

State coaching, volunteer and affiliates manager, Jack Barry, said courses such as this helped ensure the high quality of coaches in the state.

“Coaches have a more immediate and direct influence over a player than anyone else,” he said.

“Coaches who attended last month’s course got a lot out of it, and Aspley were very keen to become involved as part of their Community Club program,” he said.

“This course is a great way to make sure that you’re on top of your accreditation before the season kicks off.”

Assistant coaches who hold match day and official coaching roles need to be accredited, as well as head coaches.

This course will be held at Aspley Hornets, 50 Graham Rd, Carseldine on Sunday, March 9, running from 8:30am to 4:30pm, costing $176 for new coaches and $77 for updating coaches.

Accreditation stays current for four years from the completion of this course.
