The new look Under 17 Brisbane Flames was announced today with a strong line up of current Under 18 Youth Girls state players as well as some new faces out of the Under 15 & Under 18 Brisbane Juniors Youth Girls Club Competitions.
Under 18 State Captain & U18 All-Australian player Emily Bates will join 2012 Qld teammates Caitlin Collins, Jordan Zanchetta, Annamieka Mole, Maddie Protheroe, Hannah Sexton & Ashleigh Colenso in a star-studded team in the revised Championships format.
Brisbane North will join with the Suncoast Storm to support the new team in 2012 with U18 All-Australian superstar Tayla Harris a big addition to young side from the Sunshine Coast.
Six teams will be competing at the Kooga Under 17 Youth Girls State Championships in Cairns from 26-28 October 2012 with the Suncoast Storm being the most recent inclusion. Regular participants Papua New Guinea Kurakums have unfortunately had to pull out of the 2012 Championships due to financial reasons but are hoping to be back for 2013.
From these Championships the 2013 Under 18 Qld Youth Girls team will be selected to compete at the Under 18 Youth Girls National Championships in Victoria in May.
