Former Morningside grand final player and ex-Brisbane rookie Adam Spackman is back with the Panthers for 2011.
An employee of the Lions, Spackman spent last season playing for the club after getting special dispensation as a top-up player.
With the Lions having reaching an arrangement with the Western Magpies to select their extra players from Sherwood this winter, Spackman has returned to his club of origin.
He was one of the Panthers’ best in the losing 2008 grand final but missed the club’s back-to-back premiership triumphs due to being at the Gabba.
A State player in 2008, he will be a valuable addition to the quality Panthers midfield, covering for the loss of Mark Kimball.
Another player with plenty of dash, Jess Fewkes, has returned to the club from his Cairns home.
A member of the 2008 grand final side like Spackman, Fewkes has plenty of admirers at Esplen Oval, having showed plenty of potential in his first stint at Morningside.
Slippery forward pocket Matt Logan has also returned to the Panthers after a year off.
The former Darling Downs player was a reliable goalkicker in 2008 and he provides more than adequate cover for Hayden Wilson.
Logan decided to return to the Panthers are contemplating a switch to Mt Gravatt.
The Vultures have, however, recruited outstanding Panthers defender Ben Gibson.
Gibson gave the game away for half a season before finishing off with the Coorparoo Kings in a much lower division.
He moves to the club where his father Michael coached the 2003 Mt Gravatt team to the grand final.
