Seton-Lonsdale steps down

The Redland Football Club will commence the search for a new Head Coach after 2014 coach Greg Seton-Lonsdale advised the club he would not be seeking re-appointment for 2015.

Seton-Lonsdale coached the Bombers from mid 2011 to 2014 with the club participating in the NEAFL Finals series in 2012, 2013, and 2014. He was named NEAFL Coach of the Year in 2012

Redland Football Club Chairman Colin Tobiasen stated “On behalf of the Board of Redland Football Club I would like to document our thanks and gratitude to Greg for his dedication and application in coaching our club during the past four seasons”

“Greg took over the coaching role in a caretaker capacity in 2011, won the position in his own right in 2012 and has played a major part in the club establishing itself as a competitive brand in the ever changing landscape of the NEAFL”

“Through this period the club hasn’t achieved the ultimate in team success but has had it’s programs and individual players recognised for their contributions. Greg has been a key driver in linking the club’s past with the present and has at all times conducted himself with integrity and put the clubs interests first” Tobiasen added

“Greg leaves the club in a good position to compete in the revamped NEAFL from 2015 and beyond. We thank Greg and his family for their commitment to our club and wish them every success in the future” said Tobiasen

The club will advertise the position of Head Coach through the appropriate channels with a view of making an appointment during October.
