Coorparoo will face Robina in the SEQAFL Division Two grand final next weekend.
Coorparoo earned the right to challenge Robina for the SEQAFL Division Two flag, with a 15.21 (111) – 7.12 (54) win over Yeronga.
The Kings set up a rematch of last weekend’s second semi final against minor premiers, Robina, with the win.
Coorparoo won’t just be chasing a flag next Saturday, they will be striving for three flags in a row, an incredible feat to even contend for.
After a first quarter arm wrestle, the Kings held only a six-point advantage, and the game looked set to be a nail biter.
Coorparoo edged away in the second, but only just, with a three goal to two term putting them up by 16 points.
It was the third term that sealed the result for the Kings, as they blazed away with five goals to two heading into the final change.
Coorparoo’s fitness showed in the final term, as they stretched out the lead with another five goal term.
The result ends a fairytale year for Yeronga, who went from cellar dwellers to preliminary finalists, with the help of some added experience.
While Yeronga finished third to the two top sides this season, the Kings have had the wood over the Devils in 2013, in some classic duels.
Coorparoo will be looking for vengeance against Robina on Saturday, after the Roos bested them by almost 40 points last weekend.
The Kings have proven they can mix it with the minor premiers, having lost by only two points in their regular season matchup.
Robina and Coorparoo will also clash in the reserves flag decider, after Robina edged out Kenmore by 13 points at Wynnum this afternoon.
