INTRIGUE IN PREMIER DIVISION CLUB AID

Friday 25 March 2011

Heavyweights Palm Beach Currumbin will flex their renowned muscle against the rebuilding Western Magpies in the most intriguing match of the Pineapple Hotel Cup Club Aid pre-season competition tomorrow.

The two were fierce rivals during the Magpies’ last stint in this competition, but the black-and-whites have lost a number of their topline players to NEAFL clubs over summer.

The QAFL Premier Division pre-season competition is the last one of the summer after newcomers Kedron won the State Association Division 1 title and Broadbeach the NEAFL competition.

Reigning premiers Noosa are expected to field two evenly matched sides in their conference at Weyba Road.

The Tigers have split into two to allow for an even number of teams in their division.

The venues for the day, which feature six games played over two 20-minute halves, will at Noosa’s Weyba Road and Peak Oval in Coolangatta.
