Grab Your Friends and Get Active

AFL Active has been launched to provide a fun, social & flexible way for women to get active.



AFL Active has been developed as part of the Changing the Game: Increasing Female Participation in Sport program.  It is a fitness workout program that trains people to develop the key fitness components required to be an AFL footballer.  The workout is split into four quarters of fun workout activities that incorporate balls but doesn’t require any of the skills (eg. kicking, handballing etc.) required to play Australian Football.

AFL Active is open to everyone and is accommodating to all levels of fitness.  In line with aims of the Changing the Game: Increasing Female Participation in Sport program AFL Active is particularly targeted at getting inactive and less active women to engage in regular physical activity.  It aims to provide a flexible new way for women and girls to be involved in physical activity, which suits their needs and interests and addresses some of the practical barriers to participation.

The AFL Active program has been specifically designed for women and provides a fun, social and flexible way for women and girls to become more active through sport.
