Footy is Back in Regional Queensland with the Release of the Capricornia Fixture

Footy is back in regional Queensland with Capricornia releasing their fixtures for a new look 2020 Season.

All Clubs will return to play on Saturday July 11, with the record breaking Yeppoon Swans again the team that all Senior Men’s teams will be chasing. The Swans will be chasing an unprecedented sixth consecutive Premiership this year and will start the season at home against the BITS Saints. Saints, under new Head Coach Rick Bean, are always up for a challenge. With a few new recruits, the new look squad from Boyne Island, will be looking to end the Swans winning streak early in the season.

With several other sports not taking place in the region this year, Brother’s Kangaroos have added several rugby league and basketball players to their squad. They will be keen to see what they have to offer when they host the Gladstone Suns at home.

Glenmore and Panthers have developed a strong rivalry in recent years, and with the return of Tim Higgins, as Player/Coach, the Bulls will be hoping to get off to a good start early in the year. They take on last year’s Grand Finalists, the Rockhampton Panthers, at the Rockhampton Cricket Grounds first up.

The Senior Women’s competition will also recommence on July 11. The Rockhampton Panthers will be chasing their third consecutive Premiership in 2020. All six Clubs have had a full complement of teams return to play in the modified season; with the U13.5, U15.5 & U17.5 competitions all commencing the same day as the Senior Competitions.

Capricornia will play a ten week season, two-thirds of their regular season, and a new look Finals Series will wrap up with Grand Final Day on Saturday 3 October.
