Coorparoo today announced their Under 19 coaching and support team 2016.
In line with the club vision of providing a youth pathway at Coorparoo, the club is investing heavily in the support of its next crop of senior players, through experienced coaches and a dedicated support staff
Here is the line-up:
Michael Hewitt – Coach
A former Coorparoo junior with over 30 year’s involvement with the club, “Macca” has played 180 games, is a Level 2 accredited coach and operates and manages a personal fitness business – Xentuate Fitness.
His key motivation is to develop his team to mirror and execute game plans in line with the senior club, whilst passionately developing the group to be better people, both on and off the ground.
Ben Cowan – Assistant Coach
Ben is another former Coorparoo junior with over 25 years of involvement with the club.
He has played 220 senior games, is a three times premiership captain, has won the Bill Ryan Best on Ground grand final medal Grand Final Medal and is a senior best and fairest winner.
Ben is a qualified fitness instructor whose passion is to share his knowledge and love of the game to develop young players for success.
Ben Gibson – Assistant Coach
Former state Under 18, state senior player and recipient of the Joe Grant medal for best on ground in a QAFL grand final.
In his short time at the club, Ben has achieved a club premiership, senior best and fairest and is the current senior captain.
He has a passion for helping Coorparoo to be the best club it can be.
Gibbo is a key defender and will share his insights with the 2016 Under 19 backline to structure an attacking defensive unit.
Sarah Gosper – U19 Coordinator
Sarah has been Under 19 team manager for the past three years and moves into our new Under 19 coordinator role to help provide the extra support the group requires.
She has been with the club for over 10 years, assisting either as team manager or in administrative roles.
Sarah believes strongly in the importance of Colts to have the opportunity to keep fit, maintain routine and have strong mentors as they transition from boys to men.
Andrew Blunt – Game Day Manager
The club welcomes Andrew as our new game day team manager.
Andrew is Coorparoo through-and-through. He has most recently been heavily involved at junior level and was junior president in 2012.
A former player, Andrew has over 35 year’s involvement in the development of the club.
