Kedron vs Aspley

Kedron – E.K Anderson Oval

Round 8 of the QFA Seniors competition kicks off this weekend with Kedron hosting Aspley. Kedron will be hoping their home ground advantage continues their three-game winning streak, after beating Caloundra 101-83 last week. The Hornets have a tough game ahead of them, hoping to bounce back from their 106-67 loss to Noosa.  

Maroochydore vs Caloundra

Sat 24 May 2pm: Maroochydore Multisports Complex

Caloundra are in for a tough match this weekend when they face Maroochydore, who come off the back of a whopping 236-13 victory over Caboolture. The Panthers, who lost 101-83 to Kedron in round 7, will be on the lookout for Roos midfielder Kane Tyson, who kicked seven goals last weekend.

Mayne vs Caboolture

Sat 24 May 2pm: Mott Street

The top and bottom teams go head-to-head this weekend with undefeated ladder leaders Mayne hosting Caboolture. It’s sure to be a challenging game for the Lions, who suffered a devastating 236-13 loss to Maroochydore last week and are still yet to nab a win this season. The Tigers annihilated Nambour & Hinterland 215-8, with Luke Faulkner kicking nine goals.

Noosa vs Nambour & Hinterland

Sat 24 May 2pm: Weyba Rd

Nambour & Hinterland will be looking to rectify their disappointing one-goal performance last week when they play Noosa. The Blues continued their five-game losing streak, getting pummelled by Mayne 215-8. Noosa are sitting on only one loss this season, defeating Aspley 106-67 last week.

Coomera vs Burleigh

Sat 24 May 2pm: Coomera Sports Park

Coomera host Burleigh this week after their round 7 bye. The Magpies, who sit second-last on the ladder, could be in for a tough game against the Bombers, who have only suffered one loss all season. They beat Robina 93-63 last weekend.

Kenmore vs Alexandra Hills

Sat 24 May 2pm: Western Districts Oval

Kenmore go up against Alexandra Hills this weekend. The Bears will be looking for a strong start after slow play saw them lose 169-73 to Springwood in round 7. Alexandra Hills secured a convincing 158-70 victory over Coolangatta-Tweed.

Springwood vs Robina

Sat 24 May 2pm: Lowe Oval

Top teams Springwood and Robina face off this weekend in what is sure to be an exciting match. The undefeated Pumas will be fighting to hold on to their top spot, coming off the back of a strong 169-73 win over Kenmore. The Roos will be hungry for a win, after Burleigh handed them their first defeat of the season last week.  

Yeronga South Brisbane vs Coolangatta-Tweed

Sat 24 May 2pm: Leyshon Park (Oval 1)

Bottom team Coolangatta-Tweed will be battling Yeronga South Brisbane in an attempt to secure their second win of the season. The Blues continued their five-game losing streak last weekend, going down 158-70 to Alexandra Hills last weekend. The Devils secured a 102-88 victory over Coorparoo.

2014 QAFA (A) SENIORS ROUND 10

Beenleigh vs Park Ridge

Sat 24 May 2pm: Dauth Park

Bottom-of-the-table Beenleigh will still be chasing their first win of the season when they host Park Ridge this weekend. The Buffaloes jumped ahead in the second quarter against Carrara last week, but eventually went down 81-60 to the Saints. After trailing for the first half of the match, the Pirates overtook UQ to nab a narrow 92-81 win.

Carrara vs Griffith-Mooroka

Sat 24 May 2pm: Nielsens Road Oval

Carrara is in for a tough round 10 game, hosting ladder leaders Griffith-Moorooka. The Saints just snagged an 81-60 victory over Beenleigh, while a strong fourth quarter for the Roosters saw them come back after trailing for the first three quarters to secure a 67-all draw against Ipswich.

Ipswich vs Redcliffe

Sat 24 May 2pm: Limestone Park

Ipswich and Redcliffe go head-to-head in what could be an interesting match after both team’s round 9 performances. The Tigers, who sit second on the ladder, beat Pine Rivers 128-77, with Aaron Kingdon kicking eight goals. The Eagles, who currently place sixth, had an extremely tight game against top team Griffith-Moorooka last weekend. Ipswich narrowly lead for the first three quarters, with a last-minute burst of energy from the Roosters seeing them secure a 67-all draw.  

Logan vs University of Queensland

Sat 24 May 2pm: Tansey Park

Logan host UQ after the Cobras’ week 9 bye. After winning the first four games of the season, the Red Lions are now on a three-game losing streak. After leading against Park Ridge for the first half of the game last week, they lost momentum and the Pirates overtook to narrowly defeat them 92-81.
