She’s been labelled an icon of the Bond University QAFLW and this weekend Maroochydore captain Rachel Crack will play her 100th game of footy in Queensland.
46 were notched up at her former club Coorparoo, the rest at the Roo’s as well as one state game (Tasmania v Queensland).
Maroochydore Senior Coach, Steve Moody, was full of praise for his skipper, who’s been at the helm of the team for the past two seasons.
“Rachel is just a fantastic leader. She’s as hard as nails and leads from the front,” he said.
“She brings all of the girls together, young or old, and her consistency in games is fantastic. She’s appeared in the best six 61 times, which I believe is pretty well unheard of.
“She understands the team, she understands high level sport and I think she’s got the high level respect of everyone involved in Queensland women’s footy.”
Hailing from Tasmania, Crack was with the Brisbane Lions Academy and featured for the Lions in an exhibition game against Melbourne in front of more than 22,000 at the MCG in 2006.
Now a senior leader in the QAFLW, her footy is known for being fast and aggressive.
“She also plays competitive soccer every week. She combines the two very well and keeps herself in great shape.
“I think she’s got at least one or two great seasons left in her.”
The Roo’s will mark Rachel’s milestone with a club function after taking on Wilston Grange in their Round 11 clash at home.

“We’ll be celebrating Rachel’s achievements as a club. What’s she’s done for the game deserves full recognition. I don’t believe she’s missed a game since 2014.”
Before the party begins though, the Roo’s will be looking to keep Grange to just one win for the season.
“Wilston Grange haven’t had the best of seasons so far, but that’s not to say they won’t come out and try to knock off someone above them,” he said.
“We’re prepared for a tough game, we are missing some girls due to state duties but we’ll still feature a pretty good group and I think we’ll go OK.”
At third spot on the ladder and with four games until finals, Moody said the team was looking to finish strong.
“These last four games will determine where we’ll finish, and they are all winnable games for us.
“I feel like we’ve got the capacity to go deep into the finals if we get out stuff all together and get it right.”
