Brisbane Lions to visit Moranbah

Brisbane Lions players and staff will visit Moranbah in central Queensland later this week.

Brisbane Lions Matthew Leuenberger and Mitch Golby will visit Moranbah later this week with former ruckman Jamie Charman and Lions CEO Malcolm Holmes.

The team hits town on Thursday for a number of school visits and public appearances in the region.

They will visit Moranbah State Primary and High schools as well as Moranbah East State School to delivery their ‘Lion Hearted Leaders’ program.

Players will also pay a visit to BHP’s Goonyella Riverside Mine site to talk staff and management.

The highlight of the trip will be an AFL superclinic to be run at Moranbah Bulldogs AFC and a free public breakfast on Friday morning.

The clinic is open to everyone and will be run by AFL Queensland staff with the help of Brisbane Lions players.

Leuenberger and Golby will also assist at Bulldogs senior training on Thursday night before addressing club players and officials and their families at a BBQ function.

Both the breakfast and the superclinic will feature outdoor broadcasts from local radio station 4RFM and fans will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the Lions players.

The trip is being run in partnership with BMA to provide opportunity and access to regional Queenslanders.
