Brumbies get Government Grant

Has a little of the SUNS “gold” rubbed off onto fledgling AFL Junior club Beaudesert Brumbies?

A recent visit to the Brumbies “Field of Dreams”by Gold Coast SUNS player’s Matt Shaw and Hayden Jolly coincided with news of the club’s successful application for a government grant.

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund, an initiative of the Queensland Government to reinvest gambling taxes into local community groups, granted the club $19,245 to upgrade facilities.

The news came shortly after the local Hungry Jacks renewed its sponsorship for 2012.

Peter Allan, the Club Development Officer, was naturally thrilled with the grant.

“The Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant has come at a great time for the continual development of club facilities to cater for the needs of [the] Beaudesert and AFL community,” said Allen.

The Beaudesert Brumbies JAFC have certainly got off to a flyer, and they’ll be hoping to carry their good fortune into the rest of the season and beyond.
