FEMALE COACH SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2011

The AFL’s Female Coach Scholarship scheme was instigated in 2010 to address the absence of higher level female coaches in the system.  At that time there were only 5 accredited Level 2 female coaches and 1 level 3.  After the first Scholarship round there are now 22 Level 2 female coaches.  Several of the scholarship holders recently attended the 2011 AFL National Coaching Conference.

Following this success, the AFL would like to introduce the Scholarship scheme again in 2011.  The AFL has stressed the importance of extending the skills and knowledge of our female coaches.

This Scholarship is open to female coaches who are Level 1 accredited, actively coaching and have a genuine desire to enhance their knowledge and coaching skills.

Applicants can apply for funding of up to $250 to complete a Level 2 Coach Accreditation course during 2011 by emailing Julia Price at jprice@aflq-new.fspdev.com and applying for a nomination form before 4 March 2011.
