Youth Grand Final Locations

1,800 KIDS PLAYING IN 43 GRAND FINALS ACROSS THREE DAYS AND THREE LOCATIONS

AFL Queensland will host 43 Youth Grand Finals across August 26-28 with 1,800 kids vying for their chance of Grand Final glory on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.

Junior players from Under 12s through to Under 17s, will have the opportunity to feel like an AFL superstar, with Metricon Stadium hosting all Gold Coast/Northern Rivers Youth Grand Finals on Saturday August 27 and Sunday August 28.

Leyshon Park, Yeronga will host Grand Finals over three days from Friday August 26. Kawana Park Eagles JAFL will host Sunshine Coast clubs on Sunday August 28.

Each venue will provide a memorable match day experience for players, coaches, volunteers, umpires and spectators.

For those unable to attend the matches in person, or wanting to relive their on-field heroics, every Grand Final will be livestreamed.

Brad Howard, AFL Queensland’s Competition Lead for South East Queensland Youth and Regional said it will be a weekend to remember for aspiring players.

“It will be a massive weekend and a memorable occasion for so many participants within our game,” he said.

“Having so many Grand Finals clustered across the three venues creates an exciting atmosphere.

“The venues at Kawana and Yeronga provided a quality event in 2021 and we expect them to do so again in 2022.   We are excited that Metricon have come on board to allow our Grand Finals in that region to be played at an AFL facility.

“We are so proud to be able to livestream every Grand Final from the weekend, as we know how much it means to the players, their parents and loved ones. We don’t want them to miss a moment of the action.”
