WOMEN’S FOOTY BACK ON GOLD COAST

Palm Beach Currumbin AFC have indicated they are keen to have a Women’s Football team competing in the AFL Qld Women’s League in 2011.

A team from the Gold Coast hasn’t played in the competition since 2008 when the successful Surfers Paradise Demonettes folded.

With a successful Youth Girls Under 18 Gold Coast Warriors team playing in the Quest Community Newspapers Under 18 Youth Girls Competition, there is plenty of interest in the Women’s Team.  Players such as gold Coast locals and Under 18 Youth Girls State Team members, Cleo Davis and Ebony Zuber will be keen to continue their football career with the Palm Beach Currumbin Lions.

There will be a meeting Thursday 24 February at 6.30pm at Palm Beach Sports club for anyone interested in playing or assisting with the new team for the upcoming season.  ALL WELCOME!!

The pathway for girls football on the coast will also be reinforced with the implementation of a girls Under 16 Competition planned to start after Easter and administered by the Gold Coast Juniors.
