University of Queensland “Red Lions” AFC Coaching Roles

The University of Queensland ‘Red Lions’ Australian Football Club (UQAFC) was founded in 1956. Since then, it has boasted many highly talented and successful teams and supported the journeys of several elite footballers into their careers as professional athletes.

Being a University Club, we have a great ground in Base Architecture Meadows (BAM)/Playing Field 2 at St. Lucia, a young playing group and an engaged committee. The team is bolstered by a relationship with The Movement Standard (TMS ) in Milton who employ exercise physiologists and physiotherapists who attend trainings and game days.

Coaching Accreditation Level Required for this position is a minimum 1, and applicants must have a blue card or similar or willingness to obtain.

UQAFC is “the home of the Smart Footballer” and stands on the pillars of professionalism, accountability, respect and community. Though we are affiliated with UQ, you do not have to be a student at the University to play for UQAFC.

We have a rich tradition in both men’s and women’s football and we aim to provide all players, regardless of their level of experience, the opportunity to develop their skills through access to quality coaching, competitive opportunities and support services.

Currently, we have three men’s and two women’s sides: in the Hart Sport QFA Division 1 we have both Seniors and Reserves teams who play on Saturdays, and QFA Division 4 who play on Friday nights. In the Bond University QAFLW we have both a Seniors and Reserves team.

Applications close Friday October 6, 2023. Please send applications to Ben Larsen-Smith at UQAFC@outlook.com.
