TOUGH BREAK FOR MISSON

Wednesay 25 May 2011

A forced change to the Queensland Sunfire women’s line-up sees Cairns product Staci Trindle-Price getting the call up ahead of the AFL Women’s Nationals Championships.

Women’s AFL ambassador Kate Misson (pictured right) was dealt a devastating blow, breaking her finger two weeks out from the championships, forcing her to make way for Price to enter the Sunfire squad.

The timing may feel like deja vu for Misson, a Sunfire regular, who was restricted to the sidelines in the championships two years ago after breaking her scaphoid on the eve of the tournament.

Trindle-Price’s inclusion further strengthens Cairns’ dominance in the team selection, bringing the total to 11 players representing the northern city in the State team.

The AFL Women’s Nationals Championships will be held from 7 to 11 June in Adelaide, where Queensland aim to better on their third place finish in 2009.
