UQ’s Michael Stewart claimed his third best and fairest award, after another outstanding season.
While he missed three games through the year his form through the rest of the season was enough to secure him his third best and fairest medal in a row.
Stewart’s win capped off another impressive year from the 29 year-old, in his fourth season at Oval Seven.
Stewart was the sole UQ representative in the QAFL team of the year,
Al Carlson claimed the Most Consistent award, for his efforts in the UQ midfield this year.
Jared D’Roza won the most improved, after establishing himself as a member of the red Lions’ regular senior team this season.
Darling Downs junior, Dan Mauch, claimed the Coaches’ Award, after proving an undiscovered gem this season.
Jarrod Prakelt was presented with the Leading Goal kicker award, with 17 goals in 10 matches this season.
Brenton Crilly was a triple award winner on the night, claiming the QAFL reserves best and fairest, leading goal kicker and Red Lion of the year, sharing the latter with Andy Rosen.
