Unblemished. Clinical. Dominant. Perfect.
All of these words describe the remarkable premiership season Morningside put together in the 2014 QAFL season after they hit the perfect 20-0 to claim the club’s first flag since 2010.
The Panthers ironically started and ended their premiership campaign against Labrador, downing the Tigers in the season opener by 36-points before running away comfortable 53-point winners in the decider on September 20.
With no team coming within 20-points of Morningside, the Panthers clinical game management was a stand-out as they strung together the most dominant QAFL season in 15 years.
Brilliantly coached by the sharp-witted, David Lake, and led from day one by experienced captain, Paul Shelton, every kick, tackle, mark and goal earned the men from Morningside a slice of state football history.
The Panthers imposing 20-0 winning streak is the first undefeated season since Southport in 1999, cementing Morningside’s efforts in 2014 as quite possibly the greatest season in the club’s storied history.
To celebrate the Panthers efforts, Morningside have partnered with Tribal Sport to offer loyal fans, players and members of the club a commemorative premiership jumper and singlet. For $50, the jumper will feature an on-field look at the 22 premiership players, including leading goal-kickers and best on ground, as well as coaches and team personal involved . The singlet will feature the same graphic and is priced at $30.
Jumpers and singlets can be purchased via phone at 1300 880 666, with more information available at tribalsport.com.au<http://tribalsport.com.au>.
