Hometown Boy Zac Smith looking forward to Rockhampton Community Camp this weekend
Rockhampton’s own Zac Smith will hit Rockhampton and Gladstone from Sunday as part of the 2012 Australia Post AFL Community Camps.
The Australia Post AFL Community Camps will see all Gold Coast SUNS listed players take the game to regional communities giving football fans of all ages the chance to meet their heroes, and learn skills from the players and coaches.
GC SUNS players will see in excess of 7,500 participants over the two days during Super Clinics and school visits in the Northern Rivers and Rockhampton regions. Five players including North Queensland’s very own, Zac Smith, Charlie Dixon and Jarrod Harbrow will visit Rockhampton while the rest of the team will head south of the border, visiting Ballina, Lismore and Casino.
Local son Zac Smith said he was really looking forward to coming home for the camp.
“The guys are really looking forward to our camp.
“It’s great to spend time with young players and coaches. It’s a good reminder of how we all started our sports careers and gives the team a chance to spend time together away from our usual routine.”
