Round 2 – Semi Finals

Griffith- Moorooka 17.6-108 – Redcliffe 7.6-48

Pine Rivers 13.9-87 Ipswich 6.9-45

PINE RIVERS v IPSWICH

Pine Rivers held their ground for a place in the preliminary final with a 13. 9 (87) – 6. 9 (45) win at home over Ipswich on Saturday.

The Swans put on a dominant display once again, with the team leading for the majority of the game.

An exchange in the second quarter saw the Eagles come back and take the lead with three goals in a row, but the Swans bit back late in the quarter to even the score before half time.

The third quarter saw Pine Rivers regain control after a goal from Agosta, who was in brilliant form, to bring a 42 point victory home for the Swans.

With Ipswich knocked out, Pine Rivers will now move forward to meet Redcliffe this Saturday in a nail-biting contest for a place in the grand final.

GRIFFITH-MOOROOKA v REDCLIFFE

Griffith-Moorooka was looking to bounce back, and bounce back they did, earning a grand final berth, after a 17. 6 (108) – 7. 6 (48) clean up over Redcliffe on Saturday.

The Roosters avenged  the result of the two sides’ previous match, a  80-70 win to Redcliffe, when it truly counted, giving them a second week off in the finals.

The Roosters came in firing and took control of the game early, setting the pace and slotting four goals within the first 30 seconds.

Despite three goals from Hedger and a courageous effort from Lee, the Tigers were left without any chance.
