AFL Queensland is pleased to announce the Queensland state Under-17 representative side that will play New South Wales / Australian Capital Territory next week at Southport’s Fankhauser Reserve.
The Queensland side will play against our traditional rivals on Monday, July 9, at 9:30am in the second game of the Future Series.
Their first game, a matchup against Tasmania at Arden Street Oval on Monday, ended in bitter defeat as the Mariners clinched the win with a last grasp goal in the dying moments.
The squad is comprised of talent from several regions across Queensland including three selections from the far North.
South East Queensland is by far the most well-represented region in the squad, accounting for the majority of players within the team.
Palm Beach Currumbin will field three players in the side, while Labrador, Maroochydore, Morningside, and Southport all have two players named within the team.
