The Queensland State Academy Under 16 squad for 2014 has been announced.
We congratulate all players selected and also acknowledge the performances of all other players who participated in the recent Under 16 Queensland State Academy Championships.
Players selected (excluding the North Queensland players) are asked to attend the first night of State training at Yeronga FC. Cansdale Street Yeronga at 4:30pm this Wednesday May 21.
Players need to bring their boots and runners. They will be issued with shorts, socks and training jumper on arrival.
Any player unable to attend should contact Jim Urquhart State Talent Co-ordinator on 0416153013.
All other information will be explained on the first night. North Queensland players selected will be contacted in the next few days with details about how and when they will link into the program.
State Under 16 Academy coach John Rankin is very excited about the quality of the squad and believes it has the necessary mix of players and skills to be very competitive at the 2014 AFL National Under 16 Championships being held on the Gold Coast commencing Saturday July 5 – Saturday July 12.
John wanted to thank all Regions plus the Lions and SUNS academies for the preparation of all players thus far before handing them over to the State coaching and support team.
