The Qld Women’s AFL Team, the Sunfire has been selected after some outstanding performances from the Women’s State Championships held over the weekend in Brisbane.

Cairns dominated selection after a convincing win in the State Championships over SEQ South and SEQ North.

The team will be playing in Division 1 at the National Championships to be held in Adelaide from 6-12 June 2011.

The Sunfire will be coached by AFL Qld’s Community Development Manager, Richie Lyons.  Deion Menzies has been appointed Assistant Coach with AFL Brisbane Juniors General Manager Cherie Brockwell managing the team.
