QFA Preview: Round 13

QFA SOUTH

Burleigh V Yeronga

Burleigh and Yeronga are in a tight race to make the top four and this clash will be a pivotal point in the season for both sides.

The Bombers will want to bounce back after a tough loss to Springwood last round, while Yeronga were at their best with big win over Coomera.

This looks to be the most important contest of the season for both sides so far.

Coolangatta Tweed V Springwood

Springwood will be aiming to pinch four points this weekend and push for second place.

The Pumas sit third in a heavily congested top four, and will be hoping a win can catapult them up a few spots.

They will have to be wary of Coolangatta-Tweed who put 90 points on Robina last round.

Coomera V Cooparoo

The top placed Blues are hoping a win this weekend will pull them away from the rest of the top four.

Cooparaoo have led the competition for most of the season but the top spot is under heavy fire with only eight points separating first and fourth place.

Coomera sit in sixth place but if they can manage a couple more wins and a few results go their way, they might be able to push their way up the table to contend in finals footy.

Robina V Alexandra Hills

Round 13 will see another local derby with Robina and Alexandra Hills.

Not only are they local rivals but they also only have two points separate them on the table.

There will be a lot of pride on the line at Scottsdale Drive.

Kenmore

After a big win last weekend the bears will be having a rest this weekend and watching the Springwood and Yeronga games closely.

QFA NORTH

Maroochydore V Nambour & Hinterland

Joint second placed Maroochydore will be hoping to close the gap on front-runners Mayne after this weekend.

The Roo’s will tackle Nambour & Hinterland in their backyard. Nambour will be facing a tough challenge but will be supported by Noosa, who are tied in second place with Maroochydore.

Mayne V Noosa

The match of the round will take place with Mayne taking on Noosa.

Mayne currently hold the top spot but Noosa are nipping at their heels with only four points separating them.

Noosa’s Robbie Copeland will be having flashbacks to his AFL days having to contend with Mayne’s leading goal scorer Andrew Housego.

This is a pivotal clash for both sides as the battle for top spot heats up with September looming.

Moreton Bay V Caloundra

A clash between fourth and fifth team in late July might normally set a few nerves but this one shouldn’t.

Caloundra only sit one place above Moreton Bay in the ladder but this doesn’t tell the whole story.

Caloundra have double the number of Moreton’s Bay points at this stage of the season, the Panthers should feel comfortable with their eyes set on a top four finish.

Aspley

Aspley will take a break this weekend, the Hornets have had a tough season so far with only one win on the board. They will be hoping to add to that tally and provide a few upsets later in the season.PROULDYSPONSOREDBYHARTSPORT
