Mt Gravatt Announce Senior Coach for 2018

The Mt Gravatt Football Club has appointed Daniel Webster as their senior coach for the 2018 QAFL season.

Webster impressed the club through an arduous interview process with his experience as a NEAFL assistant coach at Aspley, as well as his various roles within the Queensland Under 18 Talent Program.

“His credentials are impressive and his references from several people we really respect were glowing,” said Vultures Club Secretary Rod Nuttall.

“We believe that he will be a great fit for our club.”

Webster got involved in coaching after a series of groin and hamstring injuries ended a promising playing career at the age of 20.

Daniel started out with the Northern Raiders Under 18 Program and has coached in a variety of roles in the years since. His long list of achievements over the past nine years includes coaching stints with the Brisbane Lions Academy, the Under 16 and Under 18 Queensland Talent Program and the Aspley Hornets, where he served as both the backline and midfield coach.

Webster was also named the NEAFL Emerging Coach of the Year in 2012.

“Daniel made our shortlist very early on,” said Nuttall.

“We were impressed with how respectful Daniel has been throughout, to all stakeholders and participants, which was really important to us.”

Webster currently holds an AFL Level 3 coaching accreditation, which is the highest level of accreditation offered by the AFL and requires an invitation to attend.
