Founded in 1996, the Robina Roos are a Gold Coast based Australian Rules Football Club currently fielding 5 senior aged teams with approximately 200 players across 2 x Mens, 2 x Womens & 1 x Mens Masters team. The club has achieved great success in its short history, consistently appearing in finals and winning a number of premierships since their inception.
Since Covid-19 started, our Men’s squad has dramatically changed from a predominately older group to a list of 80+ players with an average age of only 25 years. We are currently seeking a new Senior Mens Coach to take our young group to the next level.
The Senior Mens Coach’s role is to manage the on-field performance of the club’s senior mens team and develop the overall playing list. The role will also provide leadership within the football department and club as a whole, assisting in the mentoring of the other coaches, recruitment, coordination of resources and assist in the development of our new junior program (commencing in 2023).
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
– Experience playing, and/or coaching, at a level higher than QFA Division 2
– Ability to recruit experienced players and support staff
– Professional approach & ability to work as part of a team
– Highly developed leadership skills
– Demonstrated ability to engage and relate to players
– Demonstrated football administration skills
– Demonstrated organisational skills
– Excellent verbal communication skills
– Must be a good ambassador for the club and a good role model for all members of our club regardless of age or gender.
Desirable attributes include:
– Ability to potentially contribute competitively as a player-coach
– Level 2 Coaching Accreditation (or willing to obtain)
– Understanding of industry best practice with respect to talented player development, sports science, game plan and game sense, use of available technology and skills development
– Credibility within, and well connect throughout, the local football community
– Computer literacy and excellent written communication skills
