Both the Hervey Bay RSL and Fraser Coast Regional Council have provided $10,000 towards NAB AFL Auskick programs in the Wide Bay region.
Throughout terms two and three AFL Queensland staff travelled far and wide to provide NAB AFL Auskick programs, along with clinics and prizes to several schools in the Fraser Coast.
The Hervey Bay RSL funding allowed staff to deliver programs at five local schools, along with delivering clinics for additional classes.
Programs were provided to 300+ kids over six weeks.
The Fraser Coast Regional Council funding also helped to provide the NAB AFL Auskick program to five schools in the area, with AFL staff traveling over 3,000KM during the program.
Hervey Bay Participation, Programs & Competitions Lead Kieron Hyndman said the community was grateful for the funding and the opportunity it has provided.
“Many of the participants in these programs would not have been able to take part without this funding” he said.
“FCRC continue to help provide not just funding, but opportunities for more regional students to connect with the wider community”
The Hervey Bay RSL have also assisted with local AFL events this year including the end of season Footy4Fun Carnival.
In 2021 The Hervey Bay RSL provided $3000 towards regional Schools Cup winners traveling to semi-finals.
AFL Queensland would like to thank both the Hervey Bay RSL & Fraser Coast Regional Council for their ongoing support, and look forward to continuing these partnerships.
