Festival of Football this weekend

Don’t forget the Festival of Football is on this weekend! There’s plenty of things to see and do including the Brisbane Lions V Sydney Swans pre-season practice match, NEAFL and community matches plus activities for the family!

The event, will run from 10:30am to 6.30pm, and also marks the official opening of council’s new Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex – AFL Precinct and the new home of the Caboolture Lions Australian Football Sports Club.

Venue

Located 10 minutes south of the Caboolture CBD, the Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex – AFL Precinct is the new centre of excellence for Australian Rules Football in the Moreton Bay Region. From early 2014, Moreton Bay Regional Council’s multi-million dollar AFL precinct will be the new home ground for the Caboolture Lions Australian Football Sports Club, and AFL Queensland’s Northern Brisbane academy programs.

Transport

No parking or drop-off areas will be available at the event venue, or in surrounding streets. Free shuttle bus services will operate from Morayfield Train Station between 10.30am and 7.00pm on Saturday March 8. Ticket holders are encouraged to catch public transport to Morayfield Train Station using their go card or by purchasing a ticket.

Car parking

Plenty of off-road car parking will be available at Morayfield State High School, located opposite Morayfield Train Station along Visentin Road, Morayfield (weather permitting).

Patrons parking at Morayfield State High School will be asked to provide a gold coin donation to local SES.

Free shuttle bus services to and from the event will operate from Morayfield Train Station, Visentin Road, Morayfield between 10.30am and 7.00pm on Saturday March 8.

Disability parking

Free shuttle bus services catering for people with a disability will operate from Morayfield Train Station between 10.30am and 7.00pm. Morayfield Train Station is located at Visentin Road, Morayfield. Limited disabled parking will be available at the venue upon presentation of a valid Queensland Government disabled parking permit.
