A super opening quarter followed by an even better 2nd quarter into the strong wind carried Surfers Paradise to a commanding win in the SEQAFL Div 1 Reserves Grade Grand Final
With a stiff wind at their backs the Demons opened with 7.5 to 1.1 against Sandgate, then backed up with 7.4 to 5.1 into what was estimated a five goal southerly at Hickey Park on Saturday.
After that it was all one way and the Demons went on to win 24.13 (157) t0 8.6 (54).
Surfers Paradise small forward Luke Gavin was the games top goal scorer with 5 but it was a tight battle for man of the match honours.
The award went to Demons mid fielder Drew Dunscombe, just ahead of diminutive wingman Chris Kranz .
