Our Lady of Mt Carmel at Coorparoo are through to the final of the Carol Berry Cup girls’ primary school competition.
Representing the Brisbane South East Region, the Mt.Carmel girls (pictured) beat Caboolture, from the Brisbane North Region, and Pacific Paradise, from the Sunshine Coast Region, in today’s regional finals at Zillmere.
Organisers said all schools competed hard for the ball and played in the spirit of the game.
Our Lady of Mt Carmel beat Caboolture 6-4 (40) to 3-4 (22) in the 10am game before clinching the title with a 7-5 (47) to 3-5 (23) win over Pacific Paradise at 11.15am.
In the final game at 12.30pm, Caboolture were too strong for Pacific Paradise 5-6 (36) to 2-1 (13).
Our Lady of Mt Carmel will now play at the Gabba on 3 August in the Carol Berry Cup Final against the winners of Pool A, to be decided on 14 July.
