Cairns Tigers V SUNS match selling fast

Fans keen to see the third instalment of the Richmond Tigers and Gold Coast SUNS battle at Cazalys Stadium, Cairns on July 13 are urged to buy now to guarantee tickets.

The Cairns Toyota AFL Premiership match is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland as part of a growing calendar of sporting, cultural and business events throughout the state.

Cazaly’s venue has increased capacity by an additional 1000 tickets following sold-out matches for the last two years.

AFL Cairns General Manager Gary Young said, “It’s great that North Queensland locals as well as visitors from all around Australia have continued to love the AFL matches played in at Cazalys.

“You couldn’t have scripted a better ending to last year’s match and we’re looking forward to another hotly contested battle between the two great AFL Clubs”.

“To ensure you get the best seats, it’s really worth booking now”.

Last week Richmond Tiger Chris Knights and Gold Coast SUNS player Charlie Dixon visited Cairns and toured local tourism attractions in the lead up to the match.

Knights said the Richmond team was again looking forward to playing in Cairns where the team continues to see huge support from local fans.

“We’d love to see as many Tigers fans as possible get to the game to support the boys, like they have the past two years.”

“It’s a game I know the coaches and players are looking forward to. It should be a great contest against a Gold Coast team in good form,” Knights said.

Gold Coast SUNS player Charlie Dixon said he was delighted to head home to Cairns and play in front of his friends and family.

“I love playing in Cairns, it’s a great opportunity to play in front of family, friends and those who played a role in helping me get to the elite level.”

“The Gold Coast SUNS have also had a lot of success in Cairns, we have a massive fan base in North Queensland and hopefully we can continue our success on the region,” Dixon said.
