BOMBERS SIGN ‘BIG FOUR’

Tuesday 3 August 2010

Redland have enjoyed some big wins off the field to match their euphoric win over Southport.

The Bombers have re-signed big guns James Charlesworth, Daniel Dzufer, Adam Mueller and Phil Carse in the last few days to ensure they have take another competitive outfit into 2011.

Charlesworth, the 2009 nab QAFL Rising Star Award winner, has re-committed for another two years while he finishes his teaching degree in Queensland.

The former Tasmanian adds enormous skill to the Bombers line-up and at 21 is entering the peak of his career.

Former Brisbane Lion Dzufer has extended his tenure by a year, ensuring he will play alongside good mate Scott Clouston next winter, who showed his commitment by signing an initial two-year deal with the Bombers.

Mueller has been a standout with the Bombers since winning the club best and fairest as a teenager and rejected strong advances from SANFL club Glenelg to remain with the club where he was raised as a junior.

Carse has been a wonderful addition to the Bombers since moving north from Box Hill, winning two best and fairest awards and finishing third the other year. He is surely right in the mix again this season.

The club captain is still only 25 and provides valuable leadership around the team.

“They are quality footballers and just as importantly quality people. We are rapt to have got their signatures,” said Bombers club development manager Craig Millar. “It’s been a good week.”

The Bombers beat Southport for the first time on Sunday and are looking for another big scalp at Labrador on Saturday.
