Big summer for Burleigh Bombers

The Burleigh Bombers have had a busy summer, with a number of new recruits heading their way.

Former Southport and Queensland captain, Danny Wise, heads a list of big-name recruits who have joined the Bombers fold for 2014, as they compete in the QFA South Competition.

Warrnambool’s Leigh Nicholas, former Essendon player, Andrew Lovett are among the other new recruits, while Terry Knight has come on as a playing assistant coach.

The Bombers have established a new colts team, as well as continuing to build on a core group of senior players.

Burleigh has also been busy off the field, establishing a new membership initiative, the 200 club.

The 200 Club will be capped at 200 members, with those able to access discounts and benefits at Burleigh Bombers functions throughout the year.

Burleigh president, Paul Fowles, said the new initiative would help continue to grow the club.

“It’s a very economical way of supporting the Bombers and with this support, we can continue to pursue the ultimate success on and off the field,” he said.

The QFA South competition kicks off on Saturday March 29.
