Preparation for the 2019 QFA season will ramp up this weekend with the commencement of the Alpha Sport Preseason Cup.
In 2019, the Alpha Sport Preseason Cup will be held across just two weekends, with teams divided into four pools played at four venues across Queensland’s south east.
Teams from the QFA Division1 HART Sport Cup competition have been split in two and will compete in Pools A1 and A2 played at Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex and Springwood’s Lowe Oval respectively.
Meanwhile, QFA Division 2 and3 teams have been allotted into Pools B1, played at Coolangatta, and B2, at Kedron.
Shortened games of two 15 minutes halves will be enacted throughout all Alpha Sport Preseason Cup games, with points and percentage being used to form a ladder for the two pools.
A Grand Final place in Week Two of the format is on offer for the two highest place teams in each of the four pools and will compete in a full lengthened match.
Each Grand Final winner will be crowned the champion of their respective pool and will receive an Alpha Sport Sports Taping Starter Pack, valued at $1250.
Once again, Alpha Sport has generously sponsored the preseason competition in its inaugural year, strengthening the ties between AFL Queensland and the sports supplier.
