Luke Jeffrey has been appointed to the new position of AFL Queensland Indigenous Engagement Manager.

Brad Reid, AFLQ Game Development Manager, says this key new role will be responsible for Indigenous engagement across all programs.

It will involve the establishment of partnerships and advocating for Indigenous participation, as well as talent and employment outcomes across the industry.

Reid was delighted after an exhaustive search and interview process to be able to appoint a person with such a diverse skill set and varied experience, supported by a strong football connection, as Jeffery has.

He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sports Administration, is completing a Masters in Human Resource Management, has senior project management experience within Indigenous employment and has worked as a Marketing & Client Services Officer at Essendon Football Club.

Plus, he has extensive playing experience at a State League level.

Offering a warm welcome to AFLQ, Reid says Jeffery will start his new role on Monday 12 July.
