Kedron v Maroochydore
Sat Aug 30, 2pm – E.K Anderson Oval, Kedron
Week two of finals footy kicks off with Kedron set to host Maroochydore in what should be an enthralling semi final.
On the back of a disappointing loss against Noosa last week, Kedron will be looking to take advantage of their vital double chance against the Roos.
Maroochydore sent Caloundra packing in a narrow 11-point win. Kedron will be looking at putting the clamps on David Bell, Jarrod Gale and Dylan Smith who were all instrumental in the win.
History says that each team has had the better of one another in the lead up to this game, with Kedron running away with the four points in Round 17 with a 70 point smashing.
Smith was the standout in this match, bagging eight goal, causing major headaches for defenders.
However, Maroochydore was on song at the start of the season, giving Kedron a hiding 114-56 back in Round 3.
Expect Alexander Craft (Kedron) and Michael Roberts (Maroochydore) to fire, with the duo polling amongst the best in both the games last time these two teams met.
Both teams will be looking to secure a spot in the preliminary final, one step closer to the greatest accolade, a grand final finish.
Mayne v Noosa
Sat Aug 30, 2pm – Mott Street, Mayne
Coming off a well-deserved break, league leaders are set to go into battle with Noosa to ply for a grand final spot.
Title heavy weights and benchmark of the competition, Mayne, will be keen to continue their triumphant undefeated season, with Noosa firmly in their sights.
Minor premiers Mayne, have had a dominant season, with triple figure wins on seven occasions.
Duncanson Medallist Luke Faulkner and his freakishly good season can be partly responsible for this, having kicked an astonishing 122 goals.
Noosa has proved the Tigers’ closest competition, finishing in second place with fifteen wins and three losses.
Dylan Dempsey has been paramount to Noosa’s success this season along with James Gellie up front who has slotted 59 majors.
Noosa have found some invigorating form come the business end of the season and will be looking for their eighth straight win tomorrow.
We can expect a close affair between these two with Noosa only going down by 23 and 33 points earlier in the season.

Robina v Kenmore
Sat Aug 30, 2pm – Scottsdale Drive, Robina
Both teams will be keen to keep their premiership aspirations alive, with week two of finals set to be a cracker with Robina taking on Kenmore.
Catch the action at Scottsdale Drive, as Robina will be determined to rectify their form after losing to Burleigh 48-86 last weekend.
Ashley Hockey was a shining light for his team, earning himself a best on ground with three goals in the defeat.
Kenmore has found some form at the pointy end of the season, having come off a one point victory over Yeronga.
They showed their persistence and were able to hold onto the game after they were challenged late in piece.
Round three was the last time these two teams met in a fairly competitive match up until half time when Robina turned it up a notch, overrunning Kenmore 165-85.
At the end of the home and away season, the top tier of the competition is neck-and-neck with Robina and Kenmore as well as two other teams sharing second spot, only separated by percentage.
With Fulton (Robina) leading the competition with 89 goals, followed closely by Plummer (Kenmore) with 82 for the season, the game will be won by whoever can get there hands on the ball first in the middle of the ground.
With this in mind, it should be a well-balanced, ferocious contest with nothing to lose, as the teams vie for a place in the preliminary final.
MAJOR SEMI-FINAL
Springwood v Burleigh
Sat Aug 30, 2pm – Lowe Oval, Springwood
Springwood and Burleigh will fight it out for the first spot in the QFA South grand final, when they play off inthe major semi-final tomorrow.
Minor premiers Springwood will be feeling refreshed, coming off a week’s break after their ladder-topping season.
Burleigh finished the home and away season in third place.
A few very convincing victories gave them the upper hand in regards to their percentage, which played a pivotal role in where they placed overall.
Springwood’s prudent forward line proved to be too strong for Burleigh last time these two teams met as they put on a clinic, 178-72.
The offensive class of Adrian Wallin, Rhan Hooper, Mark Thompson and Zaine Pringle combined sensationally and reinforced their dominance as title heavyweights.
However, Burleigh is looking promising going into this game, having won four of their last five games taken down premiership contenders, Robina and Coomera.
Burleigh’s own nathan Sullivan has also been getting the job done up front, threatening oppositions in recent weeks.
He sits on 64 majors for the season and enjoyed a bag of five against Springwood in round 17.
Regardless of where each team sits, everything will be on the line making for a semi final blockbuster that shouldn’t be missed.
