Tweed Coast pulled off an upset win to claim the Division Four South premiership, over Byron Bay, on Saturday.
The Tigers held an early advantage, with a two-point lead at quarter-time in the hotly contested match.
They took that momentum into the second, opening up a 10-point lead at the major break, before the Magpies hit back in the third.
With the final kick before three-quarter time, Byron Bay snatched a one-point lead, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats.
The Magpies could only manage one point in the final term, as the Tigers ran away with a 17-poitn victory and the 2013 flag.
Ashley Gemmill was the best for the Tigers, finishing with four goals, in a match-winning performance.
Kurt Bullock was a shining light for the Magpies, while jay Campbell slotted three.
DIV FOUR CENTRAL
Zillmere won through to the Division Four Central grand final, with a 14.21 (105) – 6.4 (40) win over Yeronga on Friday night.
The Eagles edged out to a nine-point lead in the first term, and stretched that to 11 at the major break, before a second half flurry.
Eight goals to two in the third term proved the difference for the night, with the Eagles getting out to a 52-point lead at the final change.
The Devils showed plenty of fight in the final term, keeping the quarter competitive, but it wasn’t enough to make headway on the scoreboard.
With the win, Zillmere now has a week off and awaits Yeronga or Jimboomba in the August 30 grand final.
It took a period of extra time, but the Jimboomba Redbacks got over the Woodsmen in the Division Four Central grand final, 8.11 (59) – 4.16 (40).
Four quarters couldn’t separate the two sides, who finished the match on 38 points apiece, before the Redbacks kicked away in extra time.
It was a nail biter all night, with the Redbacks taking a narrow four-point lead into the quarter-time break, and only a one-point advantage at half time.
They stretched it out to six points at the final change, before a late comeback from the Woodsmen brought the scores level.
Jimboomba managed to get the edge in the extra time, though, finishing with the 19-point victory.
The Redbacks now face Yeronga in a sudden death preliminary final on Friday night.
DIV FOUR NORTH
Bribie set up a rematch with Pomona in the Division Four North grand final, after beating Noosa 13.19 (97) – 8.6 (54) on Saturday.
The Bulldogs flew out to a massive lead in the first term, kicking seven goals to one, before Noosa fought back.
In a gritty second term, the Tigers bested the Bulldogs, kicking three goals to two and breathing some life back into the contest.
Noosa continued to compete all through the match but their sluggish start proved the difference at the end of the day.
The Bulldogswill meet Pomona to play off for the flag on Saturday.
