Revamped QFA Competition team makeup announced

AFL Queensland has formally announced the makeup of teams in the revamped QFA senior men’s competition structure for season 2020 and beyond.

Following a comprehensive mid-year review of the previous competition structure, some of the notable changes of the new model include the addition of the four Northern Rivers based clubs, Byron Bay, Tweed Coast, Ballina and Lismore, into the newly formed QFA Division 2 South Competition.

Beenleigh will take a giant stride forward in 2020, with the club making application and being accepted into a new look eight team Hart Sport Cup Division 1 Competition. Maroochydore have left Division 1, after successfully seeking elevation into the QAFL, while Burleigh have elected to play locally in Division 2 South.
