Aspley v Noosa – Graham Road

The Hornets were gallant in their 27-point defeat at the hands of Caloundra last week. The Tigers, fresh off of a 108-point victory against Nambour and Hinterland. Two very different teams at different ends of the table. Both will be desperate to post a win come Saturday.

Caloundra v Mayne – North Street

After a hard fought victory over Aspley, the Panthers will be looking to make it two wins in two weeks. A five goal effort from Caloundra forward Quinten Ross last week will mean the Tiger defence is kept on their toes all day. Mayne who are coming off the BYE but will be looking to pick up where it left off in what should be a tightly contested game.

Nambour and Hinterland v Moreton Bay – Jubilee Drive

Nambour and Hinterland will be keen to bounce back and give their supporters something to cheer about against the in-form Moreton Bay Lions. A one point loss to equal first Maroochydore would have left a sombre feeling in the Lions change room and they will be desperate to add another four points to their campaign. The Blues will need to lick their wounds quickly from last week’s defeat against Noosa, they will need to put in a more competitive performance.

Burleigh v Kenmore – Galeen Drive Park

After last week’s 23 point loss to Coorparoo, Burleigh face the Bears at home. The hosts will be desperate to leapfrog their opponents in third position. Kenmore enters the round well primed after a 65-point victory against Coomera, and will look to continue their good form. The Western outfit will need to nullify Burleigh forward Nathan Sullivan after his eight goals last week. This match-up looks to be a fairly even contest with both teams eyeing off the crucial four points.

Coolangatta/Tweed v Coorparoo – Appel Street

Coolangatta – Tweed will take on an in-form Coorparoo outfit at home as they seek to escape the bottom half of the table and push for a finals berth. Coorparoo will take confidence into the clash after a 23-point victory against Burleigh, but will need to dig deep once again to produce a win. With Coorparoo sitting on the top of the table, Coolangatta – Tweed will have to be at their best to come away with a victory.

Robina v Yeronga/South Brisbane – Scottsdale Drive

Robina come off a tough loss to Springwood. In a high scoring affair which ended as a 55-point defeat, the ‘Roo’s still managed to score 108 themselves. After a strong start to the season, Yeronga sit third overall and will look to make inroads on Springwood and Coorparoo. With no question about goal kicking, it will be Robina’s defence that must stand up if they are to win this clash, and with Devil’s Forward Matthew Eagle’s five goal haul the previous round, this will not be an easy job.

Springwood v Alexandra Hills – Lowe Oval

The last placed Bombers take on the equal top of the table Pumas in an intriguing battle. Springwood played well against Robina posting a 55 point victory, however still managed to leak plenty of goals in defence. Alexandra Hills have struggled for goals in previous weeks and will hope the BYE reinvigorated the squad for an improved performance. The Bombers will have a lot to prove so expect a hard fought battle from both teams.
