QFA Preview: Round 14

QFA South

Burleigh vs. Cooparoo

Competition leaders Cooparoo have thundered through this season and will be looking to keep this form as finals loom.

The Blues will trek down to Burleigh to take on the Bombers in an important match for both sides. The Bombers sit just outside the top four and will be trying to jostle their way into finals.

Coomera vs. Kenmore

The Magpies will be trying to swoop in and steal a win from Kenmore this weekend.

The Bears have shown serious quality, dishing out huge wins and playing an exciting brand of footy. They are one of the four teams who are in the tight race for the top spot.

While Coomera might be the underdogs in this clash, stranger things have happened.

Springwood vs. Robina

Robina will be looking to make it three wins on the trot as they match up against Springwood in round 14.

The Pumas have proven they’re a quality side, but sit in a precarious position in the top four with only two points separating second and fourth.

This is another huge match up and has the potential to throw the competition wide open.

Yeronga vs. Coolangatta – Tweed

Coolangatta are up against a strong Yeronga at outfit at Leyshon Park on Saturday.

Coolangatta have battled hard all season and are currently nursing the wooden spoon.

Yeronga are in a tight race to be in top four and will be hoping a win can catapult them over Kenmore and Springwood and into second place.

Alexandra Hills

The lads from Alexandra Hills are taking a break this weekend. It has been a tough season for them registering only one win. Hopefully the week off leaves them rejuvenated for the rest of the season.

QFA NORTH

Aspley vs. Noosa

With the season nearing the pointy end, Aspley has an opportunity, albeit a tough one, to upset the frontrunners this week.

Noosa has the home ground advantage and has been nestled comfortably in the top four throughout the season, but … a loss at this point could prove costly.

Aspley has fought hard, played a good brand of footy but the results haven’t fallen their way. Could this be their weekend?

Mayne vs. Caloundra

Mayne are looking for their fifth win on the trot when they clash with fourth placed Caloundra.

The Tigers have had a stranglehold on first place with just one loss to date.

Caloundra has been in the mix all season but some costly loses to Mayne and Maroochydore early in the season might come back to haunt them come finals time, if they don’t get the four points this weekend.

Moreton Bay vs. Nambour & Hinterland

Round 14 sees Nambour head to Moreton Bay Oval for what would look on paper to be a hard ask for the Blues.

Both sides have had a tough season and have shown their grit and determination week after week. This clash should be no different.

Maroochydore

Coming off the back of a big win the Roos will have a rest. They sit comfortably in second place and will be hoping a week off can provide them with the impetuous they need to move into the top spot.
