We believe umpiring is a great way to get involved in the AFL. It offers fitness, friends and the capacity to earn some money. The AFL is committed to offering environments that are safe and inclusive for all involved.
As of early 2023, 16% of umpires in Queensland are female. Through many different initiatives, including a female umpire mentor program, we are looking to increase this percentage and by 2030 are targeting 40% of umpires to be women and girls.
