The Gold Coast Warriors have claimed the Quest Community Newspapers U18 Youth Girls Premiership, beating undefeated minor premiers Western Thunder 4-4 (28) to 4-1 (25) at Coorparoo.

Gold Coast’s Indy Sleeth was best afield in the grand final on Saturday, completing a rare premiership double after she’d been a member of the successful Logan Cobras Open women’s team a week earlier.

Alice Rillard and Madi Crowley were other standouts for the Warriors, while Jordan Zanchetta, Rosie Pyke and Emily Bates were best in the beaten Thunder side.

Ironically, the shattering fate which befell the Thunder U18 girls was similar to that which hit the Morningside Open Women’s League side, who missed the grand final after going undefeated through the home-and-away season.
