Upgrades for Elimbah JAFC

Elimbah JAFC have received a series of upgrades to their ground after AFL Queensland’s Sports Turf Unit joined forces with the Moreton Bay Regional Council.

The partnership between AFLQ and the MBRC has provided the Meteors with a new youth-sized oval, which includes a set of AFL quality goal posts.

EJAFC President, Gayle Fielding, said she was thrilled with the upgrades to the club’s home ground.

“It’s official – we now have a full size AFL ground with posts, goal square, centre circle and all. Thanks to all that made this happen,” Fielding said.

The improvements to the ground not only provide opportunities for players and members to enjoy a quality sporting facility, but accommodate future growth in the Caboolture North region.

Moreton Bay Regional Council CEO, Daryl Hitzman, said improving the facilities of developing AFL areas will assist the progression of junior development.

“The partnership with AFL Queensland to erect goalposts in Elimbah has resulted in a quality field that can be used by junior clubs in a developing AFL area,” Hitzman said.

“Assisting these areas to improve their facilities will greatly assist fledgling AFL players with their development in future years.”

The new additions to the field will also allow EJAFC to cultivate and foster AFL to people within the area of Elimbah, as well as establish and maintain teams in competition football.

The finished product is an excellent result for AFLQ, AFLBJs, the Elimbah Meteors and the Council.
