The AFL Queensland Under 14 State Academy Championships are well underway, with the majority of matches to be played at Fisherman’s Rd Sporting Complex, Maroochydore, from Sunday September 18.
This year’s carnival will see Brisbane South East, Brisbane South West, Darling Downs, Brisbane North, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast North, Gold Coast South, North Queensland Northern, North Queensland Central, Northern Rivers and Papua New Guinea compete across three pools.
The Under 14 Youth Girls State Championships will be held in conjunction with the boys’ carnival, featuring teams from Brisbane South, Brisbane North, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Darlings Downs and North Queensland.
Both championships are the first steps in a junior player’s football development; preparing them for the next stage in their journey through the AFL Queensland Player Pathway.
