Toyota AFL Community Football Volunteer: Cameron Wyatt

Cameron Wyatt has made breakthrough contributions to the culture, infrastructure, and operations of local Rockhampton footy club the Kangaroos.

The Roo’s president is a true representation of club values – Respect, Discipline, Relentlessness, and Brotherhood.

Respect: Cameron prioritises the promotion of causes important to committee members. Domestic violence information sessions and fundraising for Breast Cancer awareness are now annual events on the Kangaroo’s calendar and well-supported by the local community.

Discipline: Cameron’s financial skills have helped the club significantly. He has been able to secure several governments grants that have resulted in unprecedented infrastructural funding and upgrades to facilities

Relentlessness: Since joining the Roo’s Cameron has grown the club’s sponsorship by 300% and he always looks to reciprocate this support throughout our footy community. The addition of the Optus electronics scoreboard Cam was able to procure in 2017 is a community asset and we wouldn’t have it without him.

Brotherhood: On top of his responsibilities as the Roo’s president Cameron actively mentors’ players, volunteers and committee members sharing his knowledge and skills.

In 2020, membership fees were halved to help families stay connected to the footy community during a challenging year.

Cameron’s decisions are always made with the players and local community in mind.

Cam personifies how a love for sport can be used for good. Under his leadership, the club is thriving both on and off the field.

Thanks for all you do Cam!
