Richmond will head to tropical North Queensland in early December, for a week-long pre-season camp in Townsville.
The Tigers will continue their recent tradition of training in hot and humid conditions as they prepare for the upcoming season, with their previous two camps having been held in Cairns.
The camp, which runs from November 30 until December 7, will combine elements of football training, fitness and team bonding.
There will be two open training sessions for Tiger fans to attend, at Tony Ireland Stadium, starting at 9am on Monday, December 1 and Wednesday, December 3.
Richmond’s Physical Performance Manager, Peter Burge, told Roar Vision it will be important to continue the Club’s emphasis on heat training during the camp.
“There’s plenty of good research around it, and it something we’ve been doing here,” he said.
“We’re going to take it to a new level this year and, without giving too much away, the boys are going to find out how tough it’s going to be.
“It’s going to be a good chance to go and do some hard work, and test them out.”
