The QAFL final round scenario

There is just one round of the home and away season left in the QAFL, and nothing is locked in.

Every single position in the top five can change, none of the top six can afford to be off their game this week.

Here’s the likely scenario for each team, win or lose.
Palm Beach Currumbin (vs. Labrador)

If they win: Top spot, and a week off.

If they lose: Second. It’s that simple.

Labrador (vs. Palm Beach Currumbin)

If they win: Top spot, they finish on top.

If they lose: They finish second.

Western Magpies (vs. Surfers Paradise)

If they win: They should finish third, depending on others percentage.

If they lose: They could miss, if Mt Gravatt and Morningside win

Surfers Paradise (vs. Western Magpies)

If they win: They should finish third, depending on others percentage.

If they lose: They could miss, if Mt Gravatt and Morningside win

Morningside (vs. Sandgate)

If they win: They make finals, probably finishing forth, and earning a home elimination final

If they lose: And Mt Gravatt win, they look likely to miss on percentage.

Mt Gravatt (vs. Wilston Grange)

If they win: They make finals, finishing forth or fifth

If they lose: They miss, due to already being two-points outside the five.

You would expect both Morningside and Mt Gravatt to both win their games, and book a ticket to the finals.
That would mean the Western Magpies Surfers Paradise game turns into an elimination final, where the loser will miss out completely.

But as we have learnt this year, anything can happen in the QAFL, so who knows what Saturday brings.

Five will live to fight another day; one will have their heart broken.
