STATE SCHOOLBOYS CHAMPS 2011

The best of Queensland’s Primary Schoolboy AFL stars are currently contesting the 2011 Under 12 State Championships.

Teams representing 12 regions have been competing since Saturday at Sandgate AFC, with the Championships to conclude tomorrow (Wednesday).

Hosted by Metropolitan North Region, 276 students (boys and girls) will participate in the carnival this year, which is believed to be a record.

The best players will be selected to represent the Queensland Blaze at the School Sport Australia AFL Championships in July in the cooler climates of Canberra. Mr Darren Baldwin (Coach), Mr Gary Coker (Manager) and Mr Mark Graham (Assistant Manager) will escort the team as Team Officials for 2011. Rob Seale, Regional Manager of AFLQ Wide Bay, will also travel with the team as the Assistant Coach.

Also travelling to Canberra will be our Under 15 State Schoolboys side, who conested their State Championships earlier in North Queensland.

In 2011 the QPSAF celebrate 85 years of existence and held a special reunion dinner at the Kedron-Wavell Services Club on Saturday night to celebrate this fantastic milestone.
